A follow up of what i've learned in the previous tutorial. Featuring a short about a guy who woke up one Sunday morning to find a strange visitor outside.
A short documentary made for my close friend's wedding. A brief interview-styled walk-down memory lane of their beginning and their future. Made its debut at 20th June 09 during the wedding dinner.
Directed, edited and interviewed by Lokman Salikoon Sound by Stefan Shih. DP by Richard Lim Jr
This happened at the Sasquatch music festival 2009. 1 guy started dancing on his own hysterically and another tried to mock him. Then came another. And more people joined them in their dance till it hit critical dance party.
Saw this on the internet and i told myself, i just had to have it. The package came yesterday but no one was around to receive it. Picked it up this morning before i headed to office and proudly wore it on my bag.
Acclaimed director Chris Milk recently released a short film entitled Last Day Dream as part of the 42-Second Dream Film Festival in Beijing, China. Its a touching film for having such a short duration.
Chris Milk is known for directing music videos for Kanye West, U2, Green Day, and more. His portfolio can be found at chrismilk.com.
A film by David Brown. "I Love Trash" is a documentary about dumpster diving. Two friends decide to do an experiment in trash. They rent an unfurnished apartment and arrive with only the clothes they are wearing and a flashlight. They decide not to buy any things for 3 months and instead to find all their needs in the trash. They furnish their apartment lavishly. They eat decadently. They dress sharp, and create beautiful art, all from the trash.
Woke up alittle late, went Ikea to have brunch, took an cab to CMPB to pay what i owe, headed to Vivocity to watch Detroit Metal City, went to Sistic at City hall to get tickets to The Winter's Tale, met up with Richard for the UIP surprise screening which turned out to be Duplicity and finally finishing up reading Ebo's movie script on the way home.
Because of the recession and our disability of the magazine to sustain to be in the current form. Management has thoroughly weighed in all possibility to salvage what is left and has finally made the decision.
First movie magazine will no longer be a magazine. From late April or early May, look out for First, as a section in TNP every Thursday.
This news hasn't really been out officially but the plan has already began running through. (hope i don't get in trouble with this post but I'll take the risk, don't think my posts are read by many anyway)
What becomes of the team? Well the editorial team will be moving out to the News Center and as for us art team, our feet will still be planted in SPHM.
What will I be doing? Has you may have noticed my post title, i will be transferred to the online medium, back to my roots where i began in the design line. Have yet to know the fate of my art director and editor.
First of all, thank you for all the birthday wishes i receive physically, from SMS, and Facebook.
24th March is usually pretty much an uneventful day for me. I don't celebrate them. Not that it reminds me of how old I'm getting but simply its just a matter of thinking its a celebratory kind of occasion for me.
This year is kind of nerve-wrecking for me. OK here's the low down with some back story. Remedial Training (RT) is a normality for me as i never could pass my IPPT since ORD. I've always escaped as i was under the radar till a year ago. Most of you guys know that I'm in the publication industry and my monthly peak period is nothing new. A week before the actual deadline, times can be rough and hard on me and i would have to make-up for 2 session and "die-die" must take the next session. Along came the final day, which i had to work an "over niter" on a Friday and only came home the next day noon. If you could connect the dots, i overslept my Sat afternoon session and was automatically a defaulter.
For those who have experience this would know that the 1st time is fine i guess. But this was my 3rd. The 1st was a long story concerning my window period and me taking IPPT during my In-Camp. My 2nd was just plain laziness.
The white letter came. CMPB. NSSC. In uniform. Thank goodness it was my lull time and took leave for that day. So there i am, face-to-face with the officer. I was so darn nervous but all ready to face an ultimate sentencing of DB which i hear floating around if you're a repeat offense.
"Will you accept my punishment or would you like to appeal in court?" says the officer. I accepted it and lo and behold, a punishment of $100 dollars was placed upon me.
What a relief! Then i remembered. I'm screwed, I only have $81 in my bank. Luckily, I was able to make a delayed payment with the consent of an approving officer. But he was no where to be found! Well he was stuck at a meeting and didn't see him till 1 hour later. My delayed payment was approved and will be back there to make payments this coming Monday.
The rest of the day was pretty much quiet and slowly began my days of being 29.
I've got to wake up my idea and go to these bloody RTs. They are so irritatingly disruptive...
This is what i call a genius marketing strategy. It may be a harmless, nonsensical improv stunt, but the commuters were enjoying the happening and some even joined in (later i found out that they did it every 20 mins throughout the day, so ppl who weren't involved could also just be recruited for the next routine). Not only that, curious passerby would be surprised at the commotion and would whip out their camera phone to take pictures and video, hence, viral marketing was born.
The Nike Warehouse Sale is happening this week from 5-8 Feb 2009 (Thursday - Sunday). Click to view larger this communication piece. Spread the news to your family and friends.
Being Human is about George, Mitchell and Annie, three seemingly normal flatmates struggling to keep their dark secrets from the world, and follows their struggle to fight both their curses and the enemies who want to bring them down.
Whats thier dark secret?
Mitchell Aidan Turner plays the good-looking and laid-back Mitchell who, in contrast to George, has the gift of the gab and an easy confidence with the ladies. But he is also a blood-sucking vampire struggling with going cold-turkey from the blood he craves.
George Russell Tovey reprises his role as the lovable George, battling with his double identity as a mild-mannered and geeky hospital porter who for one night a month is transformed into a flesh-hungry, predatory werewolf.
Annie Completing the flat-share trio is Annie, played by Lenora Crichlow, a talkative ghost lacking in self-confidence and desperate for company. Annie is still pining after her boyfriend, whom she was due to marry before the fatal accident that left her with her ghostly affliction - and who happens to be the landlord of their flat.
Its the Super Bowl today in the states, so buckle up for more sneak peeks popping up all over the internet.
First up, G.I. Joe! Looks awesome. And for those who say that they always give all the best bits in the trailer, there's definitely more from where this came from. Trust me, i saw a special preview on the big screen and its going to be a fun ride.
CHA$E, an action-packed, edge-of-your-seat reality show, pits Runners against each other on life sized "game boards" in the quest for cash. But in order to win, they must avoid being caught by the relentless Hunters who stalk them during the games.
The action takes place throughout various locations in Los Angeles like San Pedro Harbor, Universal Theme Park and the Descanso Gardens.
In CHA$E Runners must also be conscious of their time. As the clock counts down, the tasks get harder and the Hunters grow more insistent.
Every second they go uncaught leads them closer to winning a cash prize of up to $50,000.
There's no place like this home. Estate of Panic turns nightmares into reality and pushes phobias to the limit.
Each week, a new group of contestants enter the estate searching for money hidden inside of booby-trapped rooms. The walls in one cave in, creating a hopelessly small space. Can the contestants survive it? Then thousands of creepy, crawling bugs line the walls and floor of another room, and flooding water rises by the second in another.
Throughout it all, contestants must remain calm because if they panic, they won't get paid.
The game begins with seven contestants who compete in three nerve-wracking challenges. After each challenge two are eliminated and their winnings are added back into the prize pot. The last person standing faces a final challenge in the Vault Room.
In this new era, what is said in this quote is all so true. You might be calling it disillusionment, trying to see the positive side of such dreadful situation. It may not be an original idea, but in turn, developing it into a new idea altogether, bringing it to the next step where the previous left to stop.
